Cookiequiet is free for one website, then €3 per website per month or €29 a year on Starter, €9 per website per month or €99 a year on Pro, with the AI design agent, and €190 a year on Agency for a bundle of ten Pro websites and five team seats. Counting geo-targeting and Consent Mode v2, both PRO in Real Cookie Banner, here is the yearly cost:

WebsitesReal Cookie Banner PROCookiequiet
159 €€0 on Free, €29 on Starter
5129 €€145 on Starter (€116 with one site on Free)
10229 €€190 on Agency (10 Pro websites, 5 seats)

For one site, Cookiequiet is 30 € a year cheaper on Starter, and its free plan includes what Real Cookie Banner keeps for PRO. Over three years, one site costs 177 € on Real Cookie Banner and €87 on Cookiequiet Starter. At five sites Real Cookie Banner's bundle costs less than Cookiequiet Starter on all five; at ten, Cookiequiet's Agency plan costs less. The cost calculator runs other site counts.

The free versions

Real Cookie Banner's free plugin includes the core consent features, unlimited services and content blockers, the scanner and consent documentation. Geo-restriction, Google Consent Mode, TCF compatibility, the design presets, the 200+ design options and most service templates are marked PRO. A free site that runs Google Analytics 4 or Google Ads therefore has no Consent Mode signals until it upgrades.

Cookiequiet's free plan covers one website with Consent Mode v2, geo-targeting, a consent log kept 30 days, a monthly scan of 10 pages and policies in one language, with a small Cookiequiet link in the banner.

Compliance features

Geo-targeting: Real Cookie Banner PRO decides per country whether to show the banner, using a local copy of an IP-to-country database so the visitor's IP is not sent elsewhere. Its own comparison lists the EU/EEA, Switzerland and the UK as covered jurisdictions. Cookiequiet's geo-targeting, on every plan, adds Brazil, Canada, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey and a US opt-out notice with Global Privacy Control.

Consent Mode: PRO in Real Cookie Banner, which also passes consents to Google Tag Manager and Matomo Tag Manager as events. Every Cookiequiet plan sets the six Consent Mode v2 signals and a cq_consent dataLayer event.

Consent records: Real Cookie Banner stores each consent in your WordPress database and says consents are never sent to its servers; you can view and export them, and no retention period is stated. Cookiequiet keeps records 30 days on Free, 1 year on Starter and 5 years on Pro, with CSV export on Starter and Pro.

Certification: Real Cookie Banner CMP is on Google's certified CMP list, with the TCF on PRO. Cookiequiet is not certified, so a WordPress site with AdSense, Ad Manager or AdMob ads for visitors in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland is better served by Real Cookie Banner PRO for those ads.

Setup and platforms

Real Cookie Banner runs on your WordPress server. The free plugin installs from wordpress.org; PRO needs a licence key from the devowl.io customer center, entered in the WordPress backend under the plugin's License page, with one key per site. Setup then follows a guided configuration and a compliance checklist. Its scanner reads every page in the sitemap, rescans pages after edits and on a schedule, and recognizes known WordPress plugins; it ships service and content blocker templates, gives recommendations for 28 CDN providers, and generates a cookie policy from the configured services. The plugin is translated into 19 languages and works with WPML, Polylang, TranslatePress and Weglot.

Cookiequiet is one script tag placed before your other scripts, on any platform, WordPress included, with no plugin settings or licence key: the first scan fills the cookie table and prefills the policies, Reject all is on by default, and a banner is live in about five minutes. It generates a privacy policy, a cookie policy and terms from its scan, in English and French, and shows the banner in 24 languages.

  • WordPress depth: templates for WordPress plugins, plugin detection, rescans after edits, content blockers that replace embeds with placeholders.
  • Consents stay in your own database and the IP check runs locally.
  • A Google-certified CMP with the TCF on PRO.
  • A lower price per site at five sites, and staging licences included.
  • A free sandbox to test PRO before buying.

Where Cookiequiet is better

  • Works on any platform, not only WordPress.
  • Geo-targeting and Consent Mode v2 on the free plan.
  • One site for €29 a year on Starter, and ten Pro websites with five team seats for €190 a year on Agency.
  • A privacy policy and terms from the scan, records kept 5 years on Pro, a US opt-out notice, AI brand match on Starter and an AI design agent on Pro.

Switching

Export the list of consents from Real Cookie Banner before you deactivate it. Add the Cookiequiet tag to the theme header before other scripts, mark the tags that must wait for consent with type="text/plain" data-cq-category="...", and give YouTube or Maps iframes a data-cq-src. Run a scan and compare it with your Real Cookie Banner service list. For other WordPress plugins compared, see Borlabs Cookie and Complianz.
