Cookiequiet vs CookieYes: prices, features and who should pick which
Pick Cookiequiet if you run one or a few websites and want a flat price with no pageview tiers, a Reject all button by default and geo-targeting on the free plan. Pick CookieYes if you show Google AdSense or Ad Manager ads to European visitors and need a Google-certified CMP with the IAB TCF, or if you need scans of thousands of pages. Pricing
CookieYes prices by domain and by pageviews. On 2026-10-20 its pricing page listed four plans per domain: Free with 5,000 pageviews a month, Basic at $10 a month for 100,000 pageviews, Pro at $25 a month for 300,000 pageviews, and Ultimate at $55 a month with unlimited pageviews. Annual billing gives two months free, so Basic is $100 a year and Ultimate $550. Basic and Pro add $0.30 per 1,000 pageviews beyond the limit. Geo-targeting starts on Pro, and the CookieYes branding can only be removed on Ultimate.
Cookiequiet prices by website only. The free plan covers one website with unlimited pageviews and geo-targeting included. Pro is €3 per website per month or €29 a year, the same figures in dollars, with no pageview tier at all. A lifetime licence is €79 per website, once. On the monthly figures, Pro costs 70% less than CookieYes Basic and 95% less than CookieYes Ultimate, the only CookieYes plan without a pageview cap.
The difference matters most for sites whose traffic moves. A site that passes 100,000 pageviews on CookieYes Basic pays overage or moves to Pro; on Cookiequiet nothing changes. The reasoning is laid out in why pageview pricing is wrong for consent.
Compliance features
Both tools cover the basics the GDPR and the ePrivacy rules ask for: prior consent, per-category choices, a record of each choice and a way to withdraw. Both support Google Consent Mode v2 on every plan, including the free ones.
Cookiequiet shows Accept all and Reject all on the first screen with the same size and weight, by default, on every plan. CookieYes offers a Reject All button that you enable and label in its banner settings, and its documentation says the button must be on for its explicit-consent banner type. The result can be equivalent; the default is not.
Geo-targeting is where the plans diverge. Cookiequiet lets a free site show the banner only in regulated countries (the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, Brazil, Canada, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey) or in a custom list, and can show a US opt-out notice with a "Do not sell or share" link in states with a privacy law. CookieYes reserves geo-targeting for Pro and Ultimate.
Consent logs exist on both. Cookiequiet keeps records 30 days on Free and 5 years on Pro, with CSV export on Pro. The CookieYes pricing page lists a consent log on every plan without stating retention or export.
CookieYes is a Google-certified CMP and supports the IAB TCF v2.4 framework on Pro and Ultimate. Cookiequiet is not certified. If your site shows Google AdSense, Ad Manager or AdMob ads to visitors in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you need a certified CMP for those ads, and CookieYes qualifies.
Setup and platforms
Both install with one script tag. CookieYes also ships a WordPress plugin and a Wix app, which some site owners prefer to pasting code. Cookiequiet is one tag on any platform, about 7 KB compressed, rendered in a shadow root so the site's CSS cannot break it, with step-by-step guides for WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, Framer, Next.js and Google Tag Manager.
Scanning differs in scale. CookieYes scans 100 pages on Free, 600 on Basic, 4,000 on Pro and 8,000 on Ultimate, with scheduled scans monthly on Pro and weekly on Ultimate. Cookiequiet scans 10 pages on Free and 50 on Pro, monthly on Free and weekly on Pro, and names what it finds from a database of about 80 providers. For a large catalogue or a newsroom, CookieYes covers more URLs per scan.
Languages: CookieYes has one banner language on Free and multilingual, auto-translated banners from Basic. Cookiequiet ships 24 languages on every plan, picked from the visitor's browser, with every string editable.
Where CookieYes is better
- A Google-certified CMP with the IAB TCF v2.4 on Pro and Ultimate, which AdSense and Ad Manager publishers in Europe need.
- Scan budgets from 600 to 8,000 pages per scan.
- A WordPress plugin and a Wix app documented in their help centre.
- Auto-translated banners from Basic.
Where Cookiequiet is better
- Price: €3 flat per website, or free, against $10 to $55 plus overage.
- No pageview limit on any plan, free included.
- Geo-targeting on the free plan instead of from $25 a month.
- Reject all on the first screen by default, with equal prominence.
- Policies in English and French written from the scan, a consent log kept 5 years on Pro, an AI banner designer on Pro.
- No branding from €3 (Pro), where CookieYes removes its branding only at $55.
Switching
Cookiequiet understands the markup CookieYes uses for blocked scripts: tags written as <script type="text/plain" data-cookieyes="cookieyes-analytics"> keep being held until consent, so you do not have to re-tag. Replace the CookieYes snippet with the Cookiequiet tag, load it first, run a scan to rebuild the cookie table, and republish your cookie policy. The full procedure is in switching from CookieYes. Expect under an hour for a typical site, most of it spent checking that each tag fires only after consent.
