Pricing
Cookiebot, owned by Usercentrics, prices by domain and by subpages, the number of unique URLs its scanner finds, and puts no limit on traffic. On 2026-10-20 its pricing page, set to US dollars, listed Free for one domain with up to 50 subpages, one language and manual blocking; Premium Lite at $8 a month for one domain with up to 50 subpages; Premium Small at $16 a month per domain for up to 350 subpages; Medium at $34 for up to 3,500; Large at $56 for up to 7,000; and XLarge at $96 above that. A currency selector gives each currency its own prices: in euros the same plans cost €7, €15, €30, €50 and €90. Daily scans cost €99 a month extra, a price the page shows in euros whatever the currency. When a scan finds more subpages than the plan allows, the subscription moves to the next tier by itself. Usercentrics Advanced, the enterprise product, is priced on request by sessions.
Cookiequiet prices per website, with no subpage count and no traffic count: free for one website, €3 per website per month or €29 a year on Pro, €79 once for a lifetime licence. A 40-page brochure site pays €7 ($8) a month at Cookiebot and €3 at Cookiequiet; a 1,000-page shop pays €30 ($34) at Cookiebot and still €3 at Cookiequiet. Compare that with the plans on the pricing page.
Compliance features
Cookiebot's default banner buttons are Reject all, Selection and Allow all, and its best-practice guide says the reject option belongs at the same level as Accept. Cookiequiet does the same by default, with Accept all and Reject all at equal size and weight, and a Customize button that opens the preferences centre. On this point the two agree.
Consent Mode: both support Google Consent Mode on every plan, free included. Cookiebot also lists Microsoft UET and Amazon Consent Signal; Cookiequiet supports Microsoft UET and has no Amazon integration.
Geo-targeting is Premium only at Cookiebot. Cookiequiet includes it on Free: regulated countries, a custom list, a US opt-out notice and Global Privacy Control.
Consent records: Cookiebot keeps consent records up to 12 months and exports CSV on Premium; on its Free plan consent expires after up to one month, so visitors are asked again monthly. Cookiequiet keeps records 30 days on Free and 5 years on Pro with CSV export on Pro, and its consent cookie lasts 6 months by default.
Certification: Cookiebot CMP and Usercentrics CMP are both on Google's certified CMP list, with the IAB TCF 2.4 on Premium. Cookiequiet is not certified, so AdSense, Ad Manager and AdMob publishers with EEA, UK or Swiss visitors need Cookiebot or another certified CMP for those ads.
Setup and platforms
Both are one script tag. Cookiebot also has a WordPress plugin with more than 100,000 active installations. Its automatic blocking, Premium only, holds the tags its scanner has classified; on Free you mark scripts by hand. Cookiequiet blocks marked scripts and embeds on every plan and adds an auto-blocker for scripts and iframes created by JavaScript from about 80 known trackers; its honest limit is a tracker hard-coded in the HTML before its tag, which must be marked or moved.
Scans: Cookiebot runs monthly automated scans on Premium (daily at extra cost) and none on Free. Cookiequiet scans 10 pages on Free and 50 on Pro, monthly or weekly.
Languages: one on Free at Cookiebot, several on Premium. Cookiequiet ships 24 on every plan, picked from the visitor's browser, with every string editable.
Where Cookiebot is better
- A Google-certified CMP with the IAB TCF 2.4 on Premium, plus the Usercentrics enterprise route for large publishers.
- Automatic blocking driven by a scanner that classifies tags on Premium, with daily scans available.
- No traffic limit on any plan, including Free.
- Microsoft UET and Amazon Consent Signal alongside Google Consent Mode.
- A WordPress plugin with a large install base.
Where Cookiequiet is better
- Price for most sites: €3 flat regardless of page count, against €7 to €90 ($8 to $96) by subpages, with no automatic tier upgrade.
- Geo-targeting, automated scans, policy generators and 24 languages on the free plan, where Cookiebot's free plan has one language, manual blocking and no scans.
- Consent kept 6 months on Free rather than one month, and records kept 5 years on Pro rather than 12 months.
- Policies in English and French from the scan, an AI banner designer on Pro, a lifetime licence.
Switching
Cookiequiet reads Cookiebot's markup: scripts tagged <script type="text/plain" data-cookieconsent="statistics"> keep being held until consent, so you do not have to re-tag. Replace the Cookiebot tag with the Cookiequiet one, load it first, run a scan and publish the new cookie declaration. If you used Cookiebot's automatic mode, the tags were never marked, so run the scan and mark the trackers it lists. The steps are in switching from Cookiebot.
