Cookiequiet vs Termly: prices, banner views and compliance features

Pick Cookiequiet if you want geo-targeting, a consent log and a Reject all button without paying for Termly Pro+, and no banner-view counter on any plan. Pick Termly if you need a Google-certified CMP with the IAB TCF, a wide set of legal document generators or policies in many languages. Both support Consent Mode v2 and install with one tag.

Their pricing, read on 20 October 2026Read on 2026-10-20 at termly.io/pricing, prices per website: Free $0 (10,000 banner views a month, 1 basic policy with no edits, quarterly scans, basic Consent Mode); Starter $14 a month, or $10 a month billed annually (50,000 banner views a month, monthly scans, 2 legal policies with 10 edits, basic Consent Mode); Pro+ $20 a month, or $15 a month billed annually (unlimited banner views, weekly scans, all policies with unlimited edits, advanced Consent Mode v2, regional consent rules, consent logs with export, IAB TCF 2.3, multi-language banner and policies, Termly logo removal); Agency, custom price, starting at 10 included websites. The page shows annual billing as 'Save 25%'. It does not say what happens when a site exceeds its banner views.

Pricing

Termly prices per website and meters banner views, not pageviews. On 2026-10-20 its pricing page listed Free with 10,000 banner views a month, one basic policy with no edits and quarterly scans; Starter at $14 a month, or $10 a month billed yearly, with 50,000 banner views, monthly scans and two legal policies with ten edits; and Pro+ at $20 a month, or $15 a month billed yearly, with unlimited banner views and weekly scans. An Agency plan starting at ten websites is priced on request. Almost everything a European site needs sits on Pro+: advanced Consent Mode v2, regional consent rules, consent logs with export, the IAB TCF 2.3, multi-language banners and policies, and removal of the Termly logo.

Cookiequiet is free for one website with unlimited pageviews and geo-targeting included, and Pro is €3 per website per month or €29 a year, the same figures in dollars. A lifetime licence is €79 per website, once. Against Termly Pro+, the plan you need for regional rules and consent logs, Cookiequiet Pro is €3 against $20 a month, or €29 against $180 a year on yearly billing, about 85% less either way.

A banner-view limit is a soft version of a pageview limit: every visit that shows the banner counts. Cookiequiet has no such counter on any plan, which is the point made in why pageview pricing is wrong for consent.

Compliance features

Both tools offer a reject choice on the first screen. Cookiequiet shows Accept all and Reject all with the same size and weight by default, on every plan. Termly lets you add a Decline button and switch it on or off per region (global, US, California, EU); its own GDPR guidance says the reject option should be as easy to find and click as Accept.

Consent Mode: Termly labels it basic on Free and Starter and advanced on Pro+. Cookiequiet sets the six Consent Mode v2 signals to denied before any Google tag runs and updates them on every choice, on every plan, plus Microsoft UET.

Regional behaviour: Termly's regional consent rules are Pro+ only. Cookiequiet's geo-targeting is on every plan, including the US opt-out notice with a "Do not sell or share my personal information" link, and Global Privacy Control is honoured as an opt-out.

Consent records: Termly keeps and exports logs for every consent interaction on Pro+ and Agency. Cookiequiet records every choice on every plan, keeps records 30 days on Free and 5 years on Pro, and exports CSV on Pro.

Certification: Termly CMP is on Google's list of certified CMPs and supports the TCF 2.3 on Pro+. Cookiequiet is not certified, so sites showing AdSense, Ad Manager or AdMob ads to visitors in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland need Termly or another certified CMP for those ads.

Setup and platforms

Both are one script tag. Termly's strength is its document side: Pro+ includes all of its policy generators with unlimited edits, where Free gives one basic policy without edits and Starter two policies with ten edits. Cookiequiet generates a privacy policy, a cookie policy and terms of use from a questionnaire prefilled by the scan, in English and French, hosted or copied as Markdown or HTML. Both vendors say the same thing about these documents: templates, not legal advice.

Scans: Termly runs quarterly on Free, monthly on Starter and weekly on Pro+, and does not state a page count. Cookiequiet scans 10 pages on Free and 50 on Pro, monthly on Free and weekly on Pro, and names what it finds from about 80 providers.

Languages: Termly's multi-language banner and policies are Pro+ only. Cookiequiet's banner ships in 24 languages on every plan, picked from the visitor's browser; its policies are in English and French.

Where Termly is better

  • A Google-certified CMP with the IAB TCF 2.3 on Pro+.
  • A wider set of legal documents, with all policies and unlimited edits on Pro+.
  • Multi-language policies, where Cookiequiet writes policies in English and French only.
  • Agency pricing on request from ten websites, for teams that want a negotiated contract.

Where Cookiequiet is better

  • Price: free with unlimited pageviews, then €3 flat, against $10 to $20 a month for the plan with regional rules.
  • No banner-view or pageview counter on any plan.
  • Geo-targeting, consent logs and a Reject all button on the free plan, where Termly keeps regional rules and logs on Pro+.
  • Branding removed from €3 (Pro), where Termly removes its logo on Pro+.
  • An AI banner designer on Pro, consent records kept 5 years, a lifetime licence.

Switching

Remove the Termly embed, add the Cookiequiet tag before every other script, and mark the scripts that must wait for consent with type="text/plain" data-cq-category="analytics" (or marketing, functional). Embeds such as YouTube use data-cq-src. Run a scan, check the cookie table, generate the cookie policy and replace the Termly policy links. Cookiequiet's auto-blocker holds scripts injected by tag managers from about 80 known trackers until consent, but a tracker hard-coded in the HTML before the Cookiequiet tag runs before it can be stopped, so load Cookiequiet first. The general method is in blocking scripts until consent.

Questions

Pro+, at $20 a month or $15 billed yearly, as read on 2026-10-20. Regional consent rules, consent logs, the TCF, multi-language banners and logo removal are all Pro+ features. Cookiequiet includes geo-targeting, the consent log and 24 languages on its free plan.
At Termly, a banner view is each time the consent banner is displayed, and Free and Starter stop at 10,000 and 50,000 a month. Cookiequiet does not count banner views or pageviews on any plan.
For a privacy policy, a cookie policy and terms of use, yes, in English and French, written from what the scan finds. Termly offers more document types and more languages on Pro+. Neither is legal advice.
Yes, as a Decline button you enable per region in the banner settings. Cookiequiet shows Reject all by default with the same prominence as Accept all; our guide to the Reject all button explains what regulators expect.
