What a compliant banner must do
Under the ePrivacy rules and the GDPR, non-essential cookies need prior consent: freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous. The EDPB and the CNIL have spelled out what that means on screen: refusing must be as easy as accepting (one click, same screen), no box pre-ticked, a way to withdraw later, and proof that consent was given. Cookiequiet's defaults follow that reading; the configuration cannot remove the Reject all button. What happens before the visitor chooses
Nothing that needs consent. Marked scripts stay inert, embeds show nothing, Consent Mode defaults are denied. The auto-blocker holds known trackers created by other scripts. When the visitor accepts a category, its scripts run at once, without a reload. What the visitor sees
A short text, three buttons (Accept all, Reject all, Customize) and the links to your cookie and privacy policies, in their browser's language. Customize opens the four categories with their descriptions and the cookie table. After a choice, a small Cookie preferences button lets them change their mind. What you can change
Layout, position, colours, radius, font, every string in every language, which categories exist, which countries see the banner, how long the choice is remembered, whether returning visitors are asked again after a change, custom CSS on Pro. The live preview shows the real script.Put a quiet banner on your website today
