# Cookiequiet vs Usercentrics: session tiers against a flat price per website

> Pick Cookiequiet if you want geo-targeting without paying for it and a price that does not move with traffic: €0, or €29 a year on Starter, for one site against €180 a year for Usercentrics Plus, the first plan with geolocation rules. Pick Usercentrics if you need a Google-certified CMP with the IAB TCF (from its €30 Pro plan), 60 banner languages, consent for mobile apps, A/B testing or cross-domain consent sharing.

## Pricing

Usercentrics prices its web CMP by sessions and domains. A session is one visitor loading the site with its script over a 30-minute period. On 2026-10-21 its pricing page listed, in euros, excluding VAT and billed monthly: a Free plan for sites with fewer than 1,000 sessions a month on one domain; Essential at €7 a month for 1,500 sessions on one domain; Plus at €15 a month for 3,000 sessions on one domain; Pro at €30 a month for 15,000 sessions on three domains; and Business at €50 a month for 50,000 sessions on ten domains, with higher Business tiers from €100 (100,000 sessions) to €750 (1,000,000 sessions). Corporate is priced on request and billed yearly. When a site exceeds its limit, the plan upgrades automatically.

Cookiequiet prices by website only. One website is free with unlimited pageviews and geo-targeting. Starter is €3 per website per month or €29 a year, and Pro, with the AI design agent, €9 per website per month or €99 a year, the same figures in dollars.

The yearly figures, for a site that needs to show the banner only in regulated countries:

| Websites | Usercentrics | Cookiequiet |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 1 | €180 (Plus, 3,000 sessions) | €0 (Free) or €29 (Starter) |
| 5 | €600 (Business, 50,000 sessions shared) | €145 (Starter) or €495 (Pro) |

Without geolocation, Essential costs €84 a year for one site and 1,500 sessions. A site with 20,000 visits a month already passes Pro's 15,000 sessions. Cookiequiet has no session, pageview or visitor counter on any plan. The [cost calculator](/tools/cookie-banner-cost-calculator) runs the numbers for other site counts.

## Compliance features

Geolocation is the clearest difference. Usercentrics adds geolocation rules from Plus; Essential and Free cover one privacy regulation of your choice. Cookiequiet includes geo-targeting on every plan: everywhere, only in regulated countries (the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, Brazil, Canada, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey), or a custom list, with a US opt-out notice and Global Privacy Control honored in states with a privacy law.

Both support Google Consent Mode v2 and Microsoft UET Consent Mode on every plan. Usercentrics says Consent Mode v2 is enabled by default in its CMP. Cookiequiet sets the six signals to denied before Google tags run when the tag carries one attribute, as set out in [the Consent Mode v2 guide](/guides/google-consent-mode-v2).

Consent records: Usercentrics keeps consents accessible and downloadable for 12 months on every plan. Cookiequiet keeps them 30 days on Free, 1 year on Starter and 5 years on Pro, with CSV export on Starter and Pro. If you want records for the length of a typical limitation period, read [how long to keep consent records](/guides/how-long-to-keep-consent-records).

Usercentrics is a Google-certified CMP and supports the IAB TCF v2.3 from Pro. Cookiequiet is not certified, so sites that show Google AdSense, Ad Manager or AdMob ads to EEA, UK or Swiss visitors need a certified CMP for those ads.

## Setup

Usercentrics' own setup steps are: remove the old CMP script, configure the settings, update the data processing services in use, select the regulations and languages, customize the banner, then add the script directly or through its Google Tag Manager template. Each service on the site is a data processing service entry to review.

Cookiequiet is one script tag placed before your other scripts, with no plugin or tag-manager configuration. The scan fills the cookie table and prefills the privacy and cookie policies. Reject all is on by default, and Consent Mode v2 is one attribute on the same tag. Sign-up to a live banner takes about five minutes.

## Where Cookiequiet is better

- Price: €29 a year per site on Starter against €84 to €180 a year for one Usercentrics domain.
- No session limit and no automatic upgrade when traffic grows.
- Geo-targeting on the free plan, where Usercentrics starts it at €15 a month.
- No branding from €3 (Starter), where Usercentrics removes it with a Business add-on or on Corporate.
- Consent records kept 5 years on Pro, policies written from the scan, AI brand match on Starter and an AI design agent on Pro.

## Switching

Remove the Usercentrics script or GTM template, add the Cookiequiet tag before every other script, and mark the scripts that must wait for consent with `type="text/plain" data-cq-category="analytics"` (or functional, marketing). Cookiequiet's auto-blocker also holds scripts injected by tag managers from about 80 known trackers. Run a scan, review the categories, and generate the cookie policy. Download your Usercentrics consent history before closing the account, since it is kept 12 months.

## Questions

### How much does Usercentrics cost?

Read on 2026-10-21: Free under 1,000 sessions a month, Essential €7 a month for 1,500 sessions, Plus €15 for 3,000, Pro €30 for 15,000 sessions and three domains, Business €50 for 50,000 sessions and ten domains, billed monthly. Cookiequiet is free for one website and €29 a year per website on Starter, with no session limit.

### Which Usercentrics plan includes geolocation?

Plus, at €15 a month, is the first plan with geolocation rules. Free and Essential cover one privacy regulation. Cookiequiet includes geo-targeting on every plan, the free one included.

### What happens if my site goes over its Usercentrics session limit?

Its pricing page says plans upgrade automatically when plan limits are exceeded. Cookiequiet does not count sessions or pageviews, so the price stays the same when traffic grows.

### Do I need Usercentrics for AdSense?

If you show AdSense, Ad Manager or AdMob ads to visitors in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you need a Google-certified CMP with the IAB TCF, and Usercentrics qualifies from its Pro plan. Cookiequiet is not certified. For analytics, Google Ads conversions, Meta Pixel and embeds, Cookiequiet's Consent Mode v2 integration is enough.
