Cookiequiet's Agency plan costs the same €190 a year for ten Pro websites; beyond ten, tarteaucitron Pro's one price for all your sites wins. ## Compliance features tarteaucitron.js shows a "Deny all" button by default: the DenyAllCta option is true in the README example, alongside the recommended high-privacy mode that disables implied consent, with Accept all and Personalize next to it. Cookiequiet shows Accept all and Reject all with equal size and weight by default, with Customize opening the preferences centre. Cookiequiet generates a privacy policy, a cookie policy and terms from the scan, in English and French, as templates rather than legal advice. ## Where tarteaucitron is better - Open source under the MIT licence: you can read the code, host it yourself and keep it if the company disappears. - More than 220 ready-made service integrations and 36 languages. - Pro's single price for unlimited sites: €190 a year or €690 once for everything you run. - Support answered by the author himself, according to the site. - A free, self-hosted option suits public bodies and teams with a no-third-party-script policy. ## Where Cookiequiet is better - A free plan that includes a hosted dashboard, a scanner, policies, a consent log and geo-targeting, where the free tarteaucitron is code only. - Proof of consent stored server-side on every plan, with CSV export from Starter and 5-year retention on Pro. - A cookie scanner and policy generators, which tarteaucitron does not list. - Cheaper for one to six sites on Starter (€29 a year per site against €190), or for one site on Pro (€99 a year). - AI brand match on Starter and an AI design agent on Pro. ## Switching Remove the tarteaucitron script, its initialisation block and the service declarations. Add the Cookiequiet tag before other scripts and mark each tracker's script with `type="text/plain" data-cq-category="analytics"` (or marketing, functional); embeds use `data-cq-src`. Run a scan to rebuild the service list that tarteaucitron held in its configuration, generate the cookie policy, and check Consent Mode in the scan report. Since tarteaucitron is open source, nothing stops you from keeping it: the honest reason to move is the dashboard, the scanner, the policies and the consent log, not the banner itself.
