# Cookiequiet vs iubenda: pageview caps, legal documents and prices

> Pick Cookiequiet if you want a banner with geo-targeting, every language and no pageview cap for free or from €3, with policies in English and French. Pick iubenda if legal documents are the priority: its clause library, terms generator and policies in many languages go further, and it is a Google-certified CMP with the IAB TCF. Neither gives legal advice.

## Pricing

iubenda prices per site and meters pageviews, with a cap on every plan. On 2026-10-20 its pricing page listed Essentials at €5.99 a month, or €4.99 a month billed yearly, for 25,000 pageviews and one language; Advanced at €21.99 or €19.99 for 50,000 pageviews, with geo-targeting and all languages; and Ultimate at €89.99 or €79.99 for 150,000 pageviews and hourly scans. Every plan adds €0.05 per 1,000 extra pageviews, and no plan is unlimited: a site with 500,000 pageviews a month on Ultimate pays for 350,000 extra. The dollar prices are higher ($6.99, $27.99 and $119.99 monthly). A free tier exists for small sites; when we checked, it allowed up to 3 services in the policy.

Cookiequiet is free for one website with unlimited pageviews and geo-targeting included. Starter is €3 per website per month or €29 a year, and Pro €9 per website per month or €99 a year. There is no pageview counter on any plan. Against iubenda Advanced, the first plan with geo-targeting and every language, Cookiequiet Starter is €3 and Pro €9 against €21.99 a month.

## Compliance features

iubenda is strong on legal documents. Its privacy and cookie policies are built from a library of more than 2,400 clauses, with up to 20 services on Essentials, 30 on Advanced and unlimited on Ultimate, and a terms and conditions generator from Advanced. Cookiequiet writes a privacy policy, a cookie policy and terms of use from a questionnaire the scan prefills, in English and French, for the GDPR, the UK GDPR, ePrivacy, the CCPA/CPRA, the LGPD and the Swiss FADP. Both say the same thing about the output: templates, not legal advice. How to use such a template well is covered in [how to write a cookie policy](/guides/how-to-write-a-cookie-policy).

On the banner, iubenda's explicit Reject button is an option you switch on in its configurator (the `rejectButtonDisplay` setting is off by default, and turning it on hides the close button). Cookiequiet shows Accept all and Reject all with the same size and weight on the first screen by default.

Consent Mode v2 is on every plan at both; iubenda's FAQ says even its free plan has it. Cookiequiet adds Microsoft UET.

Geo-targeting: Advanced and Ultimate at iubenda; every plan at Cookiequiet, including the US opt-out notice and Global Privacy Control.

Consent records: iubenda lists a "permanent consent log" on every paid plan without stating export on the pricing page. Cookiequiet keeps records 30 days on Free, 1 year on Starter and 5 years on Pro, with CSV export on Starter and Pro.

Certification: Iubenda CMP is on Google's certified CMP list and the IAB TCF is listed on every paid plan. Cookiequiet is not certified; publishers serving AdSense, Ad Manager or AdMob ads to EEA, UK or Swiss visitors need a certified CMP for those ads.

## Setup and platforms

Both install with a script tag; iubenda also offers plugins for several CMSs. Cookiequiet is one tag of about 7 KB compressed on any platform, with guides for [WordPress](/platforms/wordpress), Shopify, Webflow and Google Tag Manager.

Scans: iubenda runs monthly site scans on Essentials and Advanced and hourly scans on Ultimate. Cookiequiet scans 10 pages a month on Free and 50 pages a week on Starter and Pro, from a database of about 80 providers, and anyone can run the public scanner on 5 pages without an account.

Languages: one on Essentials, all languages from Advanced at iubenda. Cookiequiet's banner ships 24 languages on every plan, picked from the visitor's browser; its policies are in English and French.

## Where iubenda is better

- Legal depth: a 2,400-clause library, a terms and conditions generator, unlimited third-party clauses on Ultimate, and policies in many languages.
- Hourly scans on Ultimate.
- A Google-certified CMP with the IAB TCF on every paid plan.
- Plugins for several CMSs.

## Where Cookiequiet is better

- Price: free with unlimited pageviews, then from €3 flat; iubenda has no unlimited plan and meters every 1,000 pageviews above the cap.
- Geo-targeting and every banner language on the free plan, where iubenda starts them at €21.99.
- Reject all on the first screen by default, with equal prominence.
- Consent log export as CSV on Starter and Pro, AI brand match on Starter, an AI design agent on Pro.

## Switching

Remove the iubenda snippets (banner and policy embeds), add the Cookiequiet tag before other scripts, mark the scripts that wait for consent with `type="text/plain" data-cq-category="..."`, run a scan, and generate new policies from the questionnaire. If your old policy is hosted by iubenda, replace its links in the footer with the Cookiequiet pages (app.cookiequiet.com/p/KEY/privacy and /cookies) or paste the Markdown into your own page. Keep a copy of the iubenda consent log for the retention period you apply; see [how long to keep consent records](/guides/how-long-to-keep-consent-records).

## Questions

### Does iubenda have an unlimited pageview plan?

No, as read on 2026-10-20. Ultimate covers 150,000 pageviews a month for €89.99 (€79.99 billed yearly) and every plan charges €0.05 per extra 1,000 pageviews. Cookiequiet has no pageview limit on any plan, including Free.

### Is iubenda's Reject button on by default?

No. iubenda's documentation describes the explicit Reject button as an option you tick in the configurator; the rejectButtonDisplay setting defaults to off. Cookiequiet shows Reject all by default at the same size as Accept all.

### Are Cookiequiet's policies as complete as iubenda's?

They cover the same ground for a typical website (processors, retention, rights, authority, cookie table) in English and French, written from the scan. iubenda's clause library, terms generator and language coverage go further. Both are templates, not legal advice.

### Which one should an AdSense publisher pick?

iubenda: it is on Google's certified CMP list and supports the IAB TCF, which Google requires for AdSense, Ad Manager and AdMob ads shown in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. Cookiequiet is not certified.
